built in camera is not working

My built in camera is not working, not recognized by the system for Skype, FaceTime and Photo Booth

BOOK PRO, Mac OS X (10.4.11)

If restarting Mac does not fix it, see How to Troubleshoot iSight - Apple Support.

Be sure to test more than one Apple camera app in more than one user account.

Do NOT use the Guest Account for this testing.

(Over time, Apple has changed the built-in camera's name on newer Macs from "iSight" to "FaceTime" and then to "FaceTime HD." Regardless of the name of your Mac's built-in camera, the same info and troubleshooting applies.)
