Preview keeps freezing when trying to use sticky notes

Preview keeps freezing when trying to use sticky notes. I have forced quit it a number of times and also restarted my Macbook Air once to try to solve the problem. Does anyone have a solution?

MacBook Air, OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)
