Hello davidlix8,

Thanks for contributing to the Apple Support Communities.

It sounds like your iPhone 6 is stuck at the Apple logo, even when you try to restore it from recovery mode.

If an icon for your iPhone does noes not appear in the top-left of the iTunes window, try this step from the article If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:

Learn what to do if you don't see your device in iTunes for OS X, or in iTunes for Windows.

If you do see an icon for your iPhone in iTunes but you still receive the "waiting for iPhone" alert, next try using the "Update" option mentioned in If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch doesn't respond or doesn't turn on:

When starting up, you might see the Apple logo or a red or blue screen for a long time, or your device might restart again. Try these steps:

  1. Make sure that you have iTunes 12 or later on your computer.
  2. Put your device in recovery mode.
  3. When you get the option to restore or update, select Update. This will reinstall iOS without erasing your data.

If these steps don't work, you may need to contact Apple Support for more help as mentioned in the article above:

If you still need help after trying the steps above, contact Apple Support.

All the best,

Jeremy
