I purchase Mac Pro 8 core 3,1 with ATI Radeon 2600XT and would like to upgrade to Invidia Quadro 4000. Is this compatible video cards.

Yes, ELSA NVIDIA Quadro 4000 Mac edition is compatible with your Mac Pro, though it requires OS X 10.6.5 or later.

Check Barefeats.com and consider some of the GTX cards - I assume you want the Q4k for CUDA ability.

I decided to purchase refurbished Quadro 4000 and just installed them. Now I'm able to purchase Final Cut Pro X for video editing.
