How can I copy a track with all it's regions and
instruments from one project to another?
There are MANY ways to achieve this goal.
Probably the easiest way to copy a single tracks instruments and midi data is to save the instrument you wish to copy as a channel strip (which will save the instrument, patch, and all effects used). Then click on the track you wish to copy in the arrange page (this will select all regions on that track) and copy. Now open your new song, load the instrument you just saved in your channel strip, and paste your midi data.
Another way is to use the "audio configuration" in your audio pulldown menu and copy the desired instrument channel. Then open the new song's audio configuration window and paste. Then go back to the original song, copy the midi data, and paste into your new song. (I use this method to copy an paste entire songs by selecting and pasting all).
If you only need to copy one instrument to use in another song does and it doesnt have any other effects, it may be easier to simply open the instrument, copy its settings, open the same instrument in your new song and paste its settings, rather than saving a channel strip or going the "audio configuration" route. However, I find that saving channel strips to be ideal, as the instrument can easily be loaded into any future song with one click.
The easiest IMO is the channel strip route for single instruments, but the choice is yours. I hope I earn a starfish for this one. 🙂
