i bought my new macbook pro retina carrying 8gb of ram last week
i noticed today the ram usage
i'm only using safari right now, have 2 tabs opened. no video embeds. just regular news websites
my ram usage is at: 5.5gb(peaks sometimes at 6gb) of the 8gb capacity
is this ok? do i need to check something?
Perfectly normal behaviour in Yosemite, as it will attempt to utilize as much RAM as possible. Are you witnessing performance issues with the computer?

i only just just "discovered" the monitor activity app and saw the ram usage
i was a bit worried about the mac using 6gb of its 8gb with only safari
so you say this is ok?
why will yosemite try to use as much ram as possible?
just want to make sure everything is ok...
