Conflicting iCloud Family Sharing Requests

My husband and I both asked each other to join our cloud families without realizing it, and neither of us are able to see or accept the request. When I send him a request, his phone tells him that he can't accept because he already sent me one. But when I check my iCloud settings, there are no invitations. He has checked that my email address is correct, but it is still not working. Ideas?
