Which US retailers ship dual-layer DVD overseas?

With the dollar performing an uncanny impression of a third-world currency, is there a US supplier of dual-layer DVDs (preferably Verbatim) that will ship its ridiculously cheap products overseas?

third-world currency..

Last I knew (early October) a Euro is worth about $1.20 US in the US - that doesn't sound 'third-world" to me.

I though you had ridiculously high VAT and other taxes on writable media in the UK - maybeTHAT'S why the prices you see quoted are 'ridiculously cheap'.

The best price I can find in the UK is the equivalent of $6US per disc, but I've heard that you can get a spindle of 100 in the States for under $50. If any US retailer ships overseas, I'd be happy to pay VAT (17.5%) and airmail.

Had I known my posting would raise any hackles I'd have reconsidered the wording. The last thing I want to do is fall out with fellow members of this astonishing online community. My intention was not to spark some kind of chauvinistic stand-off; I was merely alluding to the fact that a faltering US economy means dollars are cheaper in the UK (almost 2 per pound sterling right now) than they have been in decades.

Apologies to anyone who may have been offended.

I'm pretty & very sure, no one was offended by your statement!!
... ok, aside some fellows from the colonies.. ;-))

back-to-topic:
if you spend some time reading here, you will soon recognize, that any "cheap"/no-name brands have no good reputation here..
esp. any compatibilty to standalone-dvd-players good be an issue with nonames/cake spindle products...

Verbatim has the highest reputation, obviously worldwide; I remember another thread mentioning a me unknown Japanese (??) brand "Taiyo Yuden"..

Cheapster, the freight, customs duty and VAT will kill any such shipment from the US.

Verbatim are not expensive here (heck, even Sainsbury's sell them!). Do what i did some time ago: Google (UK only) for Verbatim DVD-R and you will find a dozen or more mailorder houses offering amazing discounts, even on dual layer.

Unless you envisage using them by the container load! 🙂

You should also try mx2.com - they are based in the Channel Islands, so no VAT, and sell not only 'computer food' but 'camera food' as well. Example: Fuji 36 exp colour film - Boots nearly £6 each, mx2 £1.56 each.
