how can I turn on wifi?

Nothing happens when I try to turn on wifi. I get a message: "No hardware installed."

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5)

I understand that you are seeing a “No hardware installed” alert when turning on Wi-Fi on your Mac. In this situation, there are a couple of different steps I would recommend to start the troubleshooting process. Please work through the steps in the following two articles to reset both your computer’s SMC and PRAM and let me know if the issue continues.
