Imovie

i am on a macbook pro 13 in. i've updated it completely. however I had cleared and reset my laptop due to a virus. Since then, I found out imovie isn't installed on it. I used my itunes account to recover it. But now whenever i try to open it, it opens the crashes immediately. How can I fix it so I can actually use I movie?
