macbook air display is overflowing across screen

Hi. I have a 2014 macbook air with OS X Yosemite. I can't see the whole display. For example, I can only see one half of the notifications on the right, top corner. The rest are off them are hanging off the display, and I can't even close them. There's also a weird gray frame around the display.

I know the problem isn't the zoom setting on the accessibility settings. I've already checked that and ruled it out.

Any help is appreciated! Thanks.
