In GarageBand 10.0.2, how do I remove an effect from a track?

I clicked on an echo effect on a vocal track, and now I want to remove it, or unselect it, but I can't find a way to do that. Please help!

Did you add the echo to the vocal track or the Master Track?

Open the Smart controls for the track, drag the dividing line to the track area upward to engage the Smart Control area, until the Plug-ins will show, disclose the plug-ins, the deselect any Master Echo or Reverb.

Check the plug-ins, if any plug-in is added, that might create an echo effect.
