Q: I have bought Office for MAC 201. Need file transfer help

I am a new MAC owner. (Previous life with PCs). I have bought Office for MAC 2011. I now have DOC files from PC in folders on a USB stick. How do I get them onto the MAC? I just plugged in the USB stick and can "see" the folders and file, but what next?

Not sure if this is the right "community" either

Drag the files/folders to a location on the internal drive.

You can see the folders, so you only have to choose them and copy them to the folder you want to (probably, the Documents folder).

You can select the files by holding down the Command key and clicking in them (if you want to select all the files, you only have to press Command and A keys), and once you have finished, press Command and C keys. With this, you only have to go to the folder you want to copy them to and press Command and V keys.

Apple has some great resources to help you learn how to use your new Mac.

The main window you see when you start your Mac is the Desktop. When the Desktop is all you see on your screen look at the menu items in the top left. Find and click on the Help menu and then select "Get to Know your Mac."

This will open a website with great information on everything you need to know about using the Mac. You will accomplish the same things you could do on a PC but the methods used will be a little different.
