trying to figure out if I can send a home sharing video in a text message, like I do with regular videos

Import it, you can then do anything you can do to a regular video.

I have this same issue - there's no option to do anything from Home Videos. I've pressed, pressed harder, swiped, tried all the normal tricks that pull up more options, but nothing lets me share, send or do anything with the Home Video videos.

Any more specific direction?

If you mean Home videos in iTunes, just drag it to the text field in messages.
