? for those who have had iPod serviced

When checking your iPod repair status and it tells you that a replacement product has been sent, does that mean just that, I got a replacement? Or does that same message pop up if they couldn't fix my iPod under warranty and they are shipping back the original unserviced? Thank you!!

Haha NOT IN THE LEAST!

Apple has a policy, their policy is: Deny there is ANY problem, with ANY Ipod, and hope the customer gives up before 5 times.

I know this from personally experience, it took me 5 time (over 3 months) for apple to replace my defective Ipod. I had a extended warranty and the ipod was obviously defective. I finally got to talk to a repair specialist and they promised to replace my ipod. That was time 4, the 5 time (still no replacement) I got another specialist and that time they replaced my ipod.

One week later my friend’s ipod went defective, I told him my experience, and it also took him 5 times to replace his ipod was well...

So apple does a 5 time chain-pull with you. That is how long it takes for you to get a new Ipod.

I have not clue what your Ipod’s problem was, but I hope for you it was a small one. But if not, keep going they WILL replace it sooner or later.

So to answer your question, No they most likely have not replaced it. That is just their “form response”. Or "HAHa, there is no problem, thank you and have a good day!"

What else would it mean?
Why would they return an iPod that is damaged and tell you they were replacing it?
If th eoriginalk was returend, it would say why.
Usualy either problem cound not be duplicated or damage prevented repair (something like this).

But ideally, only people whi actually helped should get tcredit, not whiners and poster who do not know what they are writing about.

I know this from personally experience,
"Personally" experience?
They told you they were replacing it on the repair status page and then they did not replace it?

Dear Chris,

Well it looks like you have never had a defective Ipod before? No? Or even an issue with Apple lying to you? I will get back to that in a sec.

What they usually do when they give that form response is that. It is returned with a hand dandy written confirm, that say, "The problem was fixed or was not found to be needed repair in your Ipod" yada yada, I have 5 of them in my house. And of courses, the Ipod still has the problem.

When they replace your Ipod, (unless they have changed this in 2 months of yesterday) they say. (At least what they said to me).

"Ipod was found to be defective or had a sufficient issue found. A new Ipod has been shipped.”

Responding to your second statement. I see you have almost 13 K posts on here, so you must have helped many people, so I will cut you a lot of slack. But on the other hand it is a little arrogant, to attack a guy who is only trying to help someone. Especially since you never had a corrupted Ipod hard drive, that apple refused to fix? Right? Come on, we are all trying to help people in need here right?

And finally, “They told you they were replacing it on the repair status page and then they did not replace it? “ Yes they did. And did not replace it! We demanded to have the phone recording records because the Ipod specialist also promised “Your Ipod would be replaced”. And after hearing that, they agreed to give us a new ipod. And then we got a new one.

As for the Ipod in question in this post. I HOPE it is replaced for her, I really do. I could even be completely wrong. All I know is I got rather tired seeing that message every time they shipped (my Ipod not a new one) back to me. Heck, they even could of changed what they say and give her a new one! I would love to be proven wrong on this, it does happen sometimes lol. But I felt I should worn her of what to do if they do not replace it.

As for what you said about me, that is reason I am posting here is because of the problem I had with Apple. I want to try to help people and hopefully, NOT having them to go though what I had to with my ipod. So in all due respect, Give me a break! I'm not some crying kid who is 8 year old , that dropped his ipod and thinks it is Apples fault!

I hope you understand where I am coming from on this.

Have a great day and no hard feelings? God Life

No bad feelings at all.
Because you have had a bad experience (multiple) with Apple customer service does mean "Apple has a policy, their policy is: Deny there is ANY problem, with ANY Ipod, and hope the customer gives up before 5 times."

Can you point to this policy?
I could point to hundreds of people who have experienced nothing but superior service from Apple.

So apple does a 5 time chain-pull with you. That is how long it takes for you to get a new Ipod.
Not so. Most people get iPods replaced immediately.
Two instances of poor customer service does not make a policy.

Point is, don't tell lies simply because your situation was not good/not handled proerly.

Well Ignorance is bliss I guess, at least till it happened to you.

So anyway, I have made it a rule a long time ago to never even talk to people who cut and past your words. And then write one lines on them. It never serves anyone any good.

Enough with this thread. It is pointless to read any more of this nonsense. Mine and you’re experiences mean nothing in the big picture other than the simple point: Each persons experiences differ.

Enough said, God Life
