I just upgraded iPhoto for Mac and most of my photos since 2012 have now disappeared.

I just upgraded to the latest iPhoto for Mac and most of my photos since 2012 have now disappeared (pre-2012 look ok). All that's left are a few of the Photo Stream pics, but not many. What happened? Can I get them back?

Does that mean, you are running iPhoto 9.6.1 on MacoS X 10.10.2?

In what way? Has the size of your iPhoto Library changed?

Which iPhoto version did you upgrade from? Did iPhoto crash, when you upgraded the iPhoto Library to the recent version?

Is it possible, that you have more than one iPhoto library and iPhoto accidentally opened an older library?

It still has about 183 GB in the library, same as earlier.

Re alternative iPhoto library, yes that's possible. I copied my photos to an external drive some time ago as I wanted them off the hard drive of the computer, but didn't delete them from the computer yet. But both are the same size?

Can't remember what iPhoto version I upgraded from, but I had to clear a load of stuff to make room on the mac for it (6GB) so it may have been due some time.

Ah, just went into "Switch Libraries". Seems I have 3 different libraries for my photos.... Clicked into another one and the photos came back.

That explains it then.

If one of the libraries is nearly complete, check the newest events in the other two libraries, to see, if you have a few events, that only have imported into one of the libraries.

If it are only a few photos that went astray, you could simply export them from one library and import them into your most complete library.

Sorry for the late answer, but it was really hard today to find the genuine questions among all that SPAM.
