Q: cox email stopped sending on iPhone 6

When I first got my phone my email was set up and I was able to receive and send without any problems. I can still receive, but now I get an error message when I try to send. Cannot Send Mail. The user name or password for "email@smtp.com.net" is incorrect. I didn't change any setting on my phone when to cause it to stop sending. Since then, I confirmed the account is set up correctly from the Cox Communications site. I deleted the account and set it up again following the steps on the Cox Communications site and still can't send mail. Any suggestions?
