Q: how to install windows 7

if i have the original disc for win 7 ultimate do I need the usb drive or can i skip putting the disc image on the usb? I do have an optical drive in my macbook pro?

I have searched and printed out boot camp instructions and the usb issue isn't clear.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

You need the USB drive to hold the Boot Camp drivers.

Please run Bootcamp Assistant. It may show you two or three options. You will need the USB for BC Drivers or both BC Drivers and iSO based on your Mac year/model.
