Q: sound issues for a couple weeks now.

all of a sudden today i noticed i'm having problems with sound.  i'm not sure how long it has been going on, since i've had my phone on silent for about a month (and my alarm works).  i know it's not a speaker/hardware issue because my voice call notification sound and my alarm both work, but nothing else does.  My apps, my music, text messages (and all other alerts and sounds), - only can be heard with headphones.  i don't have do not disturb or silence on or anything.
