Problem Connecting to iTunes store

I have always been able connect to the iTunes store, but I recently bought a new computer, and now I cannot connect to the iTunes store.
Every time I click on the iTunes store a message comes up sayin: "iTunes could not connect to iTunes store. Make sure your network connection is active and try again." The thing is that I am connected to the internet. I am able to go online all day long, but the iTunes store is the only thing i cant do.
When I run diagnostics it says:

Active Connection: LAN Connection
Connected: Yes
Online: Yes
Using Modem: No
Using LAN: Yes
Using Proxy: No

Can someone help PLEASE? I have been trying for a week and I'm getting really frustrated. Thank You.

I'd like to add my two bits, too.
Everything was just fine. NOW, cannot access the store to check for my purchases as they did not arrive for download.
Get the usual,"iTunes Store is not Available, Try again". Been doing that for 2 days. I did the network dynostic check. everything looks fine but yet nothing has been fixed on their end. They suggested I look at any discussions about this problem. They seem to think there is NO OTHERS with this situation.

I have had a go at resolving this problem and i have found that if i disable my internet security i can accses the store. i would not recomend you start up internet explorer whilst your security is disabled due to the fact that that your pc would be open to virses and other stuff.
Hope this helps,

I have a Mac and a PC. Both have iTunes 7. Both use the same wireless router and cable modem to connect to the Internet. The Mac works great. When I try to subscribe to a Podcast on the PC iTunes I receive the error as described in this forum. I have tried the solutions suggested to no avail.

I need to set my Sony Vaio laptop up to handle my podcast subscriptions when I am on the road. I will be using Xplay to use my Mac-formatted iPod on the laptop. Now, all I need is to get the podcast subscriptions to work on it.

I have been using the music store on a daily basis before and after the intro of version 7. I have watched what problems that I have had personally and watched what problems the other customers have been reporting on the forum. I have a theory for some of our connection problems. It is only a theory, and I will probably get pounced on by other more knowledgeable customers for throwing this out there, but this is only a theory of mine remember.

I had some connection problems too before version 7, but not to the larger extent that I have had since the intro of version 7. I am not even running version 7 currently to try and avoid some of the reported problems on the forum, but I am still having connection problems. I only use iTunes for music and have "made the adjustments in my system" that could interfere with connections or cause slower downloads as other readers here have suggested I try. In fact, I am writing this because I cannot access the music store currently (I would much rather be browsing/buying music in the iTunes store rather than passing the time on the discussion forum). I have also noticed a pattern that is time sensitive (which might or might not have any merit). Evening after evening since version 7 has been out there, it SEEMS to me as though when the large contingent of west coast customers get home from work/school/etc.(about 5:30 - 6PT), combined with the fact that customers (anywhere/everwhere else east) that run version 7 are at the same time downloading higher resolution/larger video files (and also happen to be home from work/school at that time), that Apple's system currently MAY not have the capacity to effectively handle that much data being transferred during the "prime time" hours when the majority of customers are visiting the music store (before or after prime time are much better for connections and downloads I have personally noticed a pattern for).

Again, I may be WAY off with this theory. But at least it is a theory rather than just leaving it as a complete frustrating mystery as to what all of these connection and slower download problems are about (even for music only purchasing customers using previous iTunes versions). I of course have no solid evidence though which is why this possibility remains only a theory of mine. I am keeping my fingers crossed that Apple fixes any issues that might be causing these problems and that things improve soon.
