Stolen mac book

My Mac IBOOK 12, was stolen from a hertz rent a car in Marseille France on Saturday 14 oct. I am worried because it contains my @mac, mail.

I can't find a way in this maze to contact Apple.

Should I do anything?, I'd hate to think Apple qould give help with finding my password.
What can I do?

I don't use .Mac but are you able to login via the web and change your password? It's extremely unlikely that Apple would give away your password. They probably don't even know it.

I suspect your hard drive has already been wiped and the iBook sold on :O(

When you get a replacement, consider this applicaton:

And don't forget insurance for the new laptop, added to your house and contents policy.

Good luck,

You may want to submit your MacBook to this stolen computer database. If you don't have your serial number, get it from Apple. Also, tell them it was stolen.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions!

Apple Security will not work directly with customers. They will only work with the local authorities. As long as you've filed a police report, Apple will work with the police for any recovery issues.

Resetting the admin password on a computer running Mac OS X is a fairly common issue. Anyone can look up an article describing how to do it without going through Apple.
