Have you ran the "Hardware Test" CD? I am not familiar w/Panther. Therefore, unknown if that CD was included w/Panther like w/Tiger.

Check your computer's serial # to see if it qualifies for the iMac G5 Repair Extension Program for Video and Power Issues.

I would suggest you call Apple, you seem to have tried most user fixes, this would be the next step. Please let us know what hapens,

You could try restarting in single-user mode, holding the command and "S" keys down. When the screen comes up type "exit" (without the quotes) at the command line promp. Then press return.

This might do the trick.
