How to open excel .XLT file

How can i open and work in a excel file with .XLT extension?

I have the latest version of office for mac 2015 on trail.

I also have a office online account.

MacBook Air, OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)

.xlt is an old Excel extansion for Excel templates (Excel 2004 for Mac)

Try to customize Excel for Mac first, here is the guide how to for Excel 2011 for Mac:

After that you could try to open the .xlt file and save as .xltx file.
