If you're willing to use a tool to remove it(you don't need to, but may find it easier), you can instead run Adware Medic; this link is a direct download.

I have no idea how they can get away with advertising MacKeeper at all.
I even avoid linking to sites that advertise it.
You really really need to uninstall it, but maybe not using their uninstaller.
