Apr 4, 2015 1:47 PM in response to JMRby léonie,Have a look at this document: It gives a short inventory:
Expanding GarageBand for Mac (v10.0) content with an in-app purchase - Apple Support
GarageBand for Mac (v10.0) is available free on every new Mac and as a free download on the Mac App Store for all OS X Mavericks users. It comes with the full set of features and a great set of starter content including 50 sounds, 500 loops, 1 drummer, and 2 basic lessons for guitar and piano. With a one-time in-app purchase of $4.99 (USD), you can expand this content to 200 sounds, 2,000 loops, 15 drummers, and 40 basic lessons for guitar and piano. You also gain the ability to purchase additional Artist Lessons.
You can find this option by choosing Download More Sounds from the GarageBand menu. If you previously purchased this content, select Restore Purchase to install the content.
Restore Purchase will install what previously was sold as an in-app purchase.
After the additional sounds installed, you should have at least 2000 loops, 2000 sounds, 15 drummers.

Apr 4, 2015 2:09 PM in response to JMRby léonie,It will depend on the kind of track you have selected, how many sounds will be available.
It might be easier to count the sounds directly in the Instrument Library.
Open the folder /Library/Application Support/GarageBand/Instrument Library/Track Settings/Software/
and count the ".cst" files you are finding there installed in the subfolders.

Apr 4, 2015 2:15 PM in response to léonieby JMR,I checked ~/Library/Application Support/GarageBand/Instrument Library/Track Settings/Software/ but it's empty.
I also looked on my boot drive in Library/Application Support/GarageBand/Instrument Library but the only folders in there are Plug-In Settings & Sampler.
