Songs and Albums in iPod, but no Artists

I just recently started having this problem. I put three albums in my iTunes library. They were taken off of a CD and the names were retrieved using the Gracenotes feature. The songs are in my iPod but are only able to be located by song title and album name. The artists are not appearing. This would not be a problem if there weren't soo many songs to scroll through to get to the one I want to listen to. ANy suggestions?? Also, what is a good method to go about removing scratches from the screen of my iPod? Thanks.
