Logic Pro X amp builder plug in not working

I just downloaded Logic Pro X and Yosemite 10.10.2, was finally able to get a guitar sound but cannot get the amp designer, bass designer, or pedalboard to work or show up on my screen. Under Preferences, it says N.A. for all 3 plug ins. Any ideas? Thanks!

N.A. doesnt mean not available..

It means Not Applicable in the context of the Plugin Manager you are seeing that message in...

So...

Make sure you have downloaded all the essential and whatever additional content you wish...... (Id recommend all of it if you have the free disk space on your system drive) via the Logic Pro menu item, Download Additional Content..

Check the little disclosure triangles for each section to ensure it's all been downloaded... and dont rely on the little button in the bottom left hand corner...

Finally, as a tip: Go to Logic pro X's preferences and turn on All the advanced tools if you have not already done so. Now Logic will work in the full 'Logic Pro X' mode and not the heavily cutdown and limited 'Garageband Pro' Mode...

Additional:

I highly recommend Edgar's excellent visual guides to Logic pro X to help you understand how LPX works and how best to use it....

Thanks so much! I tried everything you suggested and you were right, some of the plug ins had triangles and some did not. I downloaded the rest of them and now I have more options - I can actually see my guitar track and some options for the type of guitar, amp, etc. I still can't access the pedalboard but I'll keep working on it. Is there a button to access the pedal board? Thanks so much!

I think what you are doing is relying on the library of patches (which are combos of instruments and FX) and not the instruments themselves...

So try this..

1) Make sure you go to Logic's prefs and turn on all the Advanced Tools. Now LPX will be in LPX mode and not the cutdown/simplified 'Garageband Pro' mode

2) Start a new project and create a Software Instrument Track making sure the Open Library checkbox is unchecked...

3) Now click on the Instrument button in that track's channel strip.... and choose an instrument plugin from the list like EXS24 and then choose by clicking on the Select preset button in EXS24's interface... say the Vintage Strat for a basic sampled guitar

4) Now click on the Audio FX button in the channel strip and choose Amps and Pedals then Pedalboard to bring up the pedalboard FX plugin interface and choose what you want to use as pedals or pedalboard combinations...

Done!
