How do I empty my Photo library on my iPod Touch 5th Gen?

Hi! How do I empty my Photo Library on my iPod Touch 5th Gen? It says I have 10.7 GB of photos but I've deleted all photos and videos from all messages, Photo Stream, etc. Accessing it via a laptop and the DCIM folder is also free. Where do I find what's taking up that space and then removing it?

- You have to unsync photos that were synced to the iPod. That is covered here

Sync photos to your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch in iTunes - Apple Support

- There are also program like TouchCopy and Phone view that can do it but those are paid programs

- Backup the iPod and then restore from backup since synced photos are not included in the backup
