Apr 5, 2015 10:34 PM in response to Ps247by mende1,Welcome to Apple Support Communities
The MacBook Air uses a 45W power adapter and the MacBook Pro uses a 60W (13-inch) or 85W (15-inch and 17-inch) power adapter, so you can check this. If your friend only took the MagSafe cable (and not the power plug), it is the same one.

Apr 5, 2015 10:44 PM in response to mende1by Ps247,Thanks, I just realized that! ah! Would it harm either of our laptops if we accidentally switched power adapters/plugs?

Apr 5, 2015 10:44 PM in response to Ps247by mende1,Absolutely not. The only thing your friend may have seen is that his/her MacBook Pro took more time than usual to get the battery charged.

•45w MagSafe Power Adapter for MacBook Air (note type 2 vs original, for older model)

{You can see examples of all versions of official magsafe adapters at OWC macsales online}
There were some cautionary notes among the Support articles about using
incorrect adapter with versions of the MacBook builds, where not intended.
Just yesterday someone from Australia had query of MagSafe adapters and
my replies covered more thoroughly than question had asked.
In any event...
Good luck & happy computing!
