I want to backup my iphone and my ipad on an external hdd.
That target external hdd also has my itunes media folder in it.
Is there a way? or any expected updates for this?

IOS devices use iTunes to perform backups.
The backups are stored in the iTunes folder.

Icloud backups are not stored locally.
It is an off-site backup stored on servers in the cloud. There is no way to change this.
This is a user to user forum, there is no way for us to know anything Apple has planned.
Is there a way to do a complete backup of an iphone on an external hdd?
