error re-installing iTunes

Hi,

I'm currently trying to reinstall iTunes on my desktop (Win7 64).

Things were runing fine but after an iTunes update things have gone very wrong.

Tried to resintall, but during the installation of iTunes i'm receiving error code.

At windows boot I got : install of iTunes : missing Apple Application Support. windows error code 2.

I have no error in windows update record, and my version of windows is up to date.

After desinstal everything (itunes, bonjour, software update, quicktime, ...) always same error on installing AppleApplicationSupport:

[An error occured during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.CRT,type="win32-policy",version="8.0.50727.6195",publicKeyToken ="1fc8b 3b9a1e18e3b",processorArchitecture="x86"'. Please refer to help and support for more information. HRESULT: 0x80070003], then another error lter in install process, then failure to start AppleMobileDeviceServices..., Apple Applicatio nSupport not found and Error2 (suggestion uninstall & reinstall)...

I have tried to remove everything, download the itunes6464Setup, unrar, and selective install of AppleApplicationSupport (as suggested in Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates - removing and resinatlling iTunes and other software components ) -> same error

I have tried the windows update http://support.microsoft.com/kb/957310 and http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821 but its still giving the same error

I have tried to reinstall quicktime first (quicktimeInstaller) as suggested in another post : same error.

i tried disabling real time scanning of antivirus (avast) and desinstall/reinstall-> fail again, no particular impact.

tried ; Re: Itunes won't install on Windows 7 Fail again, same error and same place.

Already spend several hours on it. read dozens of articles on forums. It should not be that difficult to install a software.

I'm running out of options, (beside moving away from iTunes).

Any suggestions ?

I've seen a couple of posts that hint that disabling the Windows Firewall during reinstallation may help with the Microsoft.VC80.CRT error, otherwise have you tried installing the alternate version iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards)? This is proving a useful workaround for a number of failures with the full 64-bit version.

I just tried with windows firewall disabled (and antivirus disabled as well, just in case).

QuicktimeInstaller as administrator -> same error code HRESULT : 0x80070003

ITunes6464Setup desinstall & reinstall as admin -> same error code HRESULT : 0x80070003, in the middle of install process.

then i tried iTunes64Setup (i.e. older video cards version) as admin -> same error code HRESULT : 0x80070003, in the middle of install process, then failed starting services, then error code 2 again.

I tried as well to create another admin account on my machine and start the processs from this account. -> Fail again.

tried several time (with new and old version). I tried even with version 11.4 of iTunes : -> Failed.

i paid attention to deinstall in the order suggested here Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 - Apple Support, but it did not changed anything.

Any suggestion on next steps?

The MSFT tool @ https://support.microsoft.com/fr-fr/mats/program_install_and_uninstall

did not really help. IT cannot desinstall things that does not install, and does not fix anything (finds everything ok).

ran chkdsk & ccleaner.

then tried SFC.EXE /scannow

it found a couple of errors (MSFT tuner drivers, modem drivers and sound theme package).

I will try to repair via reinstall / update with CD (even if i dont see that much why it should have an impact, at least it wil be cleaner).
