After reviewing your post, it sounds like the printer stays offline. It looks like you have already done some troubleshooting. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.
Get help resolving printer issues on your Mac - Apple Support
- Open the Printers & Scanners pane of System Preferences, then select your printer and click the minus (-) button to remove it from the list.
- Follow the steps in the previous section to add your printer.
- If the issue persists, reset the printing system, then follow the steps in the previous section once more.

Apr 9, 2015 5:13 PM in response to mario49by anthonybrown6560,I have already done this and now the icon for the printer as now also gone. I am now waiting for a usb to ethernet cable to be sent to me as I feel the main port on the printer may be damaged. So I'll try to connect the printer via the ethernet port.
