Disabled Ipad Mine

My daughter recently disabled her iPad Mini and she cannot remember her password. Unfortunately, the recognized computer recently crashed and I cannot link the iPad up to restore the iPad. When I go to "Find My IPhone," it shows the iPad is offline. Is there a way I can reset or erase the iPad just to get it working again?

You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.

You can restore from a backup if you have one from BEFORE you set the restrictions passcode.

So I tried turning off my iPad and the holding down the Home button as I plug in the device into my computer. Once I do that I receive an iTunes pop up that says; "To allow access, please respond on your iPad." My iPad still says; "iPad is Disabled." I am kind of feeling like an idiot as I cannot get this iPad disabled. I have the latest version of iTunes using Windows 8. Will this work better if I hook up to my sister's Apple computer to get this disabled?
