Q: Can an early 2006 macbook pro support os x 10.7.5?

So I've just bought a second hand macbook pro. Its currently running os x 10.6.8. This wouldnt be a problem but my iphone needs itunes 12.1 and to install this I need to be running os x 10.7.5 or above.

Looking on the apple store, its going to cost me around $20 to get the update. I dont want to pay this if my macbook cant even support the system. There is no serial number that I can find - it comes up with systemserialnumber on the About This Mac window. Its a A1150 model...(is this right?!) and from hours googling I have discovered it is an early 2006 version (possibly january?)

Please help! This is driving me crazy!
