This happend to me but my phone provider is EE, i had a Facebook update and then after i updated it it wouldn't allow me to have any signal on my phone and saying searching for a few days, and then i reset all setting and then my signal came back and off and went back on lie all the time and then i was on the phone to my friend and the new update for the i phone came up on my screen so after i clicked on that it started staying connect to iTunes and wouldn't allow me to access my phone, and now when i connect it to iTunes apple is not able to detect my phone due to that update so my advice AVOID the update!!! and take it to your nearest apple store.
