Okay, so I've now come to realization that this probably will never work, but here's my last attempt... my situation is that I have a Gateway PC that is connected to my wireless network and has an HP LaserJet 1100 printer via parallel port. On my old iMac (the lamp) I was able to get it to work by SAMBA via Windows. Now I cant get this to work on 10.4!!! It's driving me crazy and I dont know whatelse to do. Does anyone know step-by-step instructions on how I can get this to work, because I've tried to look up everything and am exhausting all my resources. PLEASE HELP!!
The driver I'm using is the hpjis-foomatic-2 and espgs-7.07.2.ppc drivers... what I normally do is act like I'm adding the printer, option on add a printer and go to advance. From there, I goto connect with Windows via SAMBA and add it that way. It used to work in 10.2 and now it doesnt in 10.4... I hope there's an easier way to figure this out... please help if you can. Here's a link to what I was doing beforehand and where the driver that I was using is located if this helps answer my question. http://www.linuxprinting.org/macosx/hpijs/
Well, I thought this was fixed but its not... now I keep getting a bunch of random characters printed and blank sheets of paper printing... now what do I need to do to fix this, this is so annoying! Help!!!
That fixed it... I'm so stupid, I had my shared printer with spaces in the name! It's always the last thing and the simplistic error that makes you look stupid! Thanks for the help! 🙂
