The naming of Tracks is beyond confusing because the procedures have changed in LPX and it is inconsistent.
The new (default) convention is that when you create a new Track, then the Track Name is actually the Channel Strip Name, the name of the Channel Strip that is assigned to that Track. In LP9, you could independently give a Track its own name.
This new behavior angered a lot of users and there are only a few workarounds, how you can force an independent Track Name.
For example, show Automation and open the Subtrack Disclosure Triangle on a Track, and then naming the Track will give it an independent Track Name. Another workaround is to have more than one Track assigned to the same Channel Strip.
Maybe you have one of these scenarios by accident and that's why the Track has its independent Track Name. Double clicking on the Track Name and delete it, should revert to Channel Strip Name.
I explain all those procedures in my Graphically Enhanced Manuals "Logic Pro X - How it Works"
You can see what type of name a Track has by moving the mouse over the name. The little Tooltip that pops up says "Track Name" or "Channel Strip Name".

Hope that helps
