Why is it when i export to mpeg 2 it adds on time to my movie?

I have a film in Final Cut Pro that I started in motion, and it ends at 2:55. But when I send it to compressor and export as mpeg 2 the final film is now 9:48. The extra time is just blackness. What am I doing wrong?

I just had this problem.. you probably (like i did) had a song that you trimmed at the end of the video

If so there is a black box on the timeline (above the audio) FCP thinks the video needs to be as long as the song.

Click the black boxes on the timeline and delete.. When you export you will notice that video is the correct lenght

This worked for me, hopefully works for you
