Q: Compressor 4 burned Blu Ray disc does not play on PS3

I want to view AVCHD recorded (Panasonic HC-V700) personal movies that I have subsequently edited with FCPX, on my 1080p TV in the highest quality possible.

I have used the share option within FCPX to Apple device 1080p and then viewed via Apple TV but there was a noticeable loss of quality when compared with playback direct from the Camera connected to the TV (HDMI), particularly with motion.

So I believed the next option would be to burn to Blu Ray and after downloading Compressor 4 I have created a 'H.264 for Blu Ray' disc using a Verbatim BD-RE and an LG external burner (with updated firmware). (I tried the same on a BD-R but when attempting the burn I kept getting the 'not enough space on the disc' pop up which after reading elsewhere I understand to be an issue on a Mac - hence the use of a BD-RE).

So after a successful burn I place the Blu Ray disc in the PS3 (with the latest updates) and it doesn't even recognise that I have loaded the disc. I do not have access to another Blu-Ray player to test at the moment, has anyone come across this issue, offer any help?

I'm not sure what my next option is so would appreciate any advice.

Mac mini (Early 2009), OS X Yosemite (10.10.2), 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 8GB RAM

Try a different brand of Blu-Ray writable media, and don't use re-writable media at all.

Thanks BenB, I've subsequently identified the PS3 as the issue, after research on PS3 forums, it's a 1st Generation model and the laser is particularly sensitive to media, an 'off the shelf' Samsung Blu-Ray player plays the discs without error.

Your reply suggests not using BD-RE, however if I load a BD-R (I have tried different brands) I get the message that the disc does not have enough space, whereas a BD-RE burns without error? Any suggestions ?
