10.10.3 Bluetooth function change?

I updated to 10.10.3 this afternoon and noticed that now the volume controls on my Jabra Revo Wireless headphones change the system volume. Previously I was able to modify the volume on the headset independently from the system volume. Was this an intentional change? Is there a way to separate the two volumes so I can still bump up quiet things by stacking the volume controls? its not near as loud now as it was before the update.
