yosemite 10.10.3 upgrade now can't boot up with kernal panic

Hi

I updated today with the new release. Unfortunately when i retuned to my mac if was off! Then restarted but as soon as i click my user icon a load of text comes down the right upper corner including words kernel panic. I've booted in safe mode and i can see new photos app etc in dock. I've copied the error message the system sent to apple. Help-i can't boot unless I'm in safe mode….

I had uninstalled ManyCam several months ago - before even buying this new iMac! - and it was causing a kernel panic after I upgraded to 10.10.3. The uninstall package for ManyCam wasn't on my machine (as I had uninstalled the program before, duh) so I had to boot into Safe Mode, download ManyCam, install ManyCam, and then immediately uninstall it. Now I'm able to boot into 10.10.3.

However, none of my Bluetooth devices work, and when I try to load the Bluetooth preferences pane, I get a message: "[The Bluetooth preferences pane] is not available to you at this time." Tried resetting PRAM and rebooting... Bah.

ManyCam is a piece of junk for causing all this nonsense!

I got the same error.

I have removed the app a long time ago so I was unable to find

com.visicom.ManyCam.VideoDevice.driver 3.0.11

So, what I did was boot my mac into safe mode, and delete this file (which might be the same, although it has a different name), you can find it in Library/Extensions.

Everything worked as intended afterwards.

Hi Miai,

I had exactly the same. Did remove Manycam weeks ago and now this problem after the update to OSX 10.10.3.

I had no manycam to uninstall anymore.

The removal of the Kernel EXTension file for Manycam did indeed do the trick.

Thank you so much, this took care of my issue as well. I was in such a panic after installing the apple updates from the app store, getting stuck in a reboot loop, seeing the kernel panic, and not being able to do anything to fix it. This truly solved my issue. (saying all this for search keywords for others.)

Passei o dia todo procurando uma solução, pois havia atualizado para a versão 10.10.3 e o sistema não reiniciava. Apenas conseguia no modo de segurança.

Depois de muito pesquisar, ainda bem que não tentei nada do que vi em fóruns por ai, baixei o OS X novamente, desinstalei o ManyCam, fiz a limpeza, instalei novamente o OS X 10.10.3, reiniciei e tudo voltou ao normal.

Please can somebody help me. I have the exact same issue but I can't get safe mode to kick in.. there's no startup tone and immediately the problem shutdown screen appears so I don't even know when to judge pressing the shift key, I end up in a frustrating cycle and finish up with the error sign after a couple of loops.

That happened to me to. When you power up, look closely at the screen, you will see it turn on. Then hold down the shift key until you see the apple logo. Good luck!
