Messages App slow to launch on Mac

Hey guys. So I was previously on the Yosemite Public Beta service but opted out of it once I noticed a few bugs, one of which was a longer than usual loading time for the Messages app. I decided that I would just wait for OS X 10.10.3 to be publicly released, as I expected that to take care of my problems. Now, after updating to the public release of 10.10.3, the app still takes long to launch. Any tips as to how to resolve this?

I'm willing to back up and do a full restore if that's what is necessary, but are there any easier ways to fix this issue?

This is taking place on an early-2013 rMBP with the 2.4 GHz i7 and 8gb RAM.
