Q: iPhone 5S colored lines across the screen

I have lines that show up on my screen (vertically); usually they disappear overnight. Sometimes they're against a black background and sometimes they're just covering my screen without the black background. My phone still works and is useable, but I was wondering if this would be covered by Apple if my warranty was up.
