Apr 16, 2015 3:48 PM in response to Rezberlinby Rezberlin,Okay, I got it to work FINALLY! Three (3!!!) Apple Support people worked it out!
Caution: you're deleting a lot of preferences and Launch settings, so always handle with care and backup! I take no responsibility if anything goes wrong!
First, I had to trash ALL my com.apple.Bluetooth.... preferences
Then trash the LaunchAgents Folder in my user Library
Then trash the files inside the LaunchAgents AND LaunchDaemons Folders in the Macintosh HD Library (keep the folders!)
Then trash the Caches Folder in my user Library
Then trash the Saved Application State Folder in my user Library
Then Repair Permissions in Disk Utility
Check that I'm signed into same iCloud account on both devices: iPhone 6 Plus and Macbook Pro.
Check that Handoff is activated in Settings of both devices.
Reboot my Mac, turn on Bluetooth on both devices (in case it's not already on)
And VOILA. It somehow worked!!! Handoff and all Continuity features work!! OMG
Hope this helps all you desperate people out there!
Love! -

Dec 26, 2015 3:49 PM in response to ansaltoby David Cassidy,That's the error code that I had and, yes, the fix was to get the hardware replaced via the Genius Bar. Fortunately it was a swift replacement, and I was back up and running after a long weekend.
