Q: Bluetooth unavailable after 10.10.3 upgrade

I upgraded to 10.10.3 and ran into a kernel panic issue caused by ManyCam, and solved by installing/uninstalling in Safe Mode. (See yosemite 10.10.3 upgrade now can't boot up with kernal panic.) But now Bluetooth is unavailable on my machine, an iMac 5K. When I try to open the Bluetooth preference pane, I get this pop-up:

You can't open the "Bluetooth" preferences pane because it is not available to you at this time.

To see this preference pane, you may need to connect a device to your computer.

All my Bluetooth devices -- keyboard, mouse -- were working just fine before the upgrade. During the process of fixing the ManyCam kernel panics, I tried resetting the PRAM but, otherwise, all my settings stayed the same.

Can anyone suggest a solution to this? Thanks in advance!

Okay, I got it to work FINALLY! Three (3!!!) Apple Support people worked it out!

Caution: you're deleting a lot of preferences and Launch settings, so always handle with care and backup! I take no responsibility if anything goes wrong!

First, I had to trash ALL my com.apple.Bluetooth.... preferences

Then trash the LaunchAgents Folder in my user Library

Then trash the files inside the LaunchAgents AND LaunchDaemons Folders in the Macintosh HD Library (keep the folders!)

Then trash the Caches Folder in my user Library

Then trash the Saved Application State Folder in my user Library

Then Repair Permissions in Disk Utility

Check that I'm signed into same iCloud account on both devices: iPhone 6 Plus and Macbook Pro.

Check that Handoff is activated in Settings of both devices.

Reboot my Mac, turn on Bluetooth on both devices (in case it's not already on)

And VOILA. It somehow worked!!! Handoff and all Continuity features work!! OMG

Hope this helps all you desperate people out there!

    Love!

Wait. Did you use this method after getting the "Bluetooth preference pane is not available to you" error?!

I have the same problem, I ran te Apple Hardware Test and it gave me "reference code NDL001". Is it a hardware o software issue?

That's the error code that I had and, yes, the fix was to get the hardware replaced via the Genius Bar. Fortunately it was a swift replacement, and I was back up and running after a long weekend.
