Q: Photo Replaces iPhoto!

I was excited to see the OS X  10.10.3 update.

However, I checked with AppleCare technical support and it looks like Photo replaces iPhoto.

If anyone verifies this let us know.

IMO, this is not good. I've been pretty happy with iPhoto. Not so sure about Photos with the white background etc. It would have been much smoother IMO if I could have both for a while to make sure I like Photos.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013), OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

Your comments don't come across as helpful, but rather condescending, regardless of the smily face.

Now that Photos is installed and iPhoto has migrated, can I remove iPhoto to the trash?

Absolutely! No problem Chaz! Apology accepted (and probably not needed).

I think it's difficult to tell intentions in writing sometimes. See it happen all the time in forums. I shouldn't have said anything.

Let me make one more point.

iPhoto is still available after the update of 10.10.3. However, if you ever do a clean install, iPhoto will probably not be available. I don't think it is included in the install package (not 100% sure on that though). Just wanted to be clear there. So if you intend to keep using it, be sure to have a backup just in case you ever have to wipe your disk and reinstall fresh.

Also, if you purchased it or downloaded it from the App Store, it should still show in the purchase list for re download if needed. It still shows in mine.
