According to HT204486 Faces Tiles and Faces Data only reside on the Mac they were created on. Why on earth wouldn't this meta data share across devices/computers?
And why don't Smart Albums created on my Mac sync to my iOS devices?

This is true I suppose. Feedback already sent a few weeks ago but surprised they left this as is in the final release.
Well it's V1, so there's a lot of stuff not there.

I agree this should get fixed, it seems really unfortunate not to have access to this data. Also Smart Albums do seem to be moving across machines as well
SMs art albums don't for me. The OS created smart albums like videos do but any custom smart albums user created don't sync to iOS and to my knowledge they don't sync to other OS X devices either.
I've also read several articles lamenting the fact faces do not carry over to other OS X device and no faces view within iOS. Pretty sure at this point Apple knows at least a portion of their customers who use this want it to be improved.
Faces (metadata at least) now seem to be syncing across devices: I can search from my iPhone for a Face name and it returns results properly. Smart Albums (at least those with Face conditions) aren't syncing (yet!).
Why isn't Faces Tiles and Faces data shared with iCloud and all of my Mac's?
