Q: Touch ID not working after 8.3 update for App Store purchases

if the touch ID isn't working, go to settings> touch id > turn off the top 3 tabs and remove finger prints, then turn off phone and turn it back on, then re-add finger prints and turn on the tabs at the top. should fix it

i have iphone 5s zp/a. My iphone on ios 8.3 beta touch id is working As well.

BUt now update to 8.3 final. Touch id is not working.

WHat is problem. !!!!

If you took the time to read posts above yours, you'd see that a simple reboot seems to be all that's required to solve this.  You can certainly wait for an update, or you can try rebooting your phone.  Your choice.

To reboot, press and hold BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME time until you see the Apple Logo, then let go of both buttons and your iPhone will restart.

Give that a try and see if touch is restored.

Did you try to restart holding the lock and home button at the same time for 10 secs?  Mine wasn't working until I did that and now it's back up.

Option is still there but you need to turn it on,

Settings > Touch iD & Password > iTunes & App Store > ON

I tried all the suggestions, it's still not working for me.  I've turned it off in Touch ID setting, rebooted phone (not just restarted), turned it back on settings, entered my password, went to buy something, and it's still asking for my password.

How is it working for so many and not me?  Arghhhhh.....

AAre you sure the pass word its asking for isn't to reactivate touch id because after you restart or reboot your phone you have to enter your Apple ID password

And you have checked your Restrictions under Settings>General>Restrictions and made sure that the "Require Password" option isn't set to "Immediately"?

You can't use Touch ID for purchases if Require Password in Settings > General > Restrictions is set to Immediately.

I have reentered my AppleID password, but then when I go to purchase something (like download a song) touchID is not available and it asks for my AppleID password (again).

I checked and Restrictions is not even enabled.  So,,.guess that's not it.  But thanks for the suggestion....

WWith every update, Apple just does a little more to lose me as a customer. In the case of v9 turning my 2 year old iPad into a non-responsive brick that was solely almost enough to make me switch to Samsung. I'm getting ever closer Apple, and I know I'm not alone.
