Sort from newest to oldest

How can I reverse the default sorting order?

I want to see the latest pictures on top and not at the bottom.

Now that that the new "Photos" app has been up and running for couple of days, I am noticing a LOT of missing features that were part iPhoto and/or Aperture for years! Features that were extremely useful even critical for most of us. Here are just some of the missing features from the new Photos ( I am SURE there are A LOT more than what is listed here):

Unable to do MULTIPLE deletions of anything (Photos and videos)

Capability to sort from NEWEST to OLDEST. unable to reverse the default of the app, which is to sort from OLDEST to NEWEST ONLY!!!

ALL events and/or Projects are no longer available when you export from either iPhoto or Aperture. It seems like under Photos, these items would need to created again (if correct would be a huge pain in the neck)

I am still the app, but it seems like so many good and useful features from both iPhoto and Aperture are now gone!

Thanks,

RF

You can only drag photos into a new sorting order in albums. Moments in Photos are the new Events, i.e. groupings of photos sorted by date taken.

When the iPhoto Library was first migrated to Photos there was a folder created in the sidebar titled iPhoto Events and all migrated iPhoto Events (which are now Moments) are represented by an album in that folder. To open the sidebar if it's not already open use the Option+Command+S key combination.

There's a way to simulate events in Photos.

When new photos are imported into the Photos library go to the Last Import smart album, select all the photos and use the File New Album menu option or use the key combination Command+N. Name it as desired. It will appear just above the iPhoto Events folder where you can drag it into the iPhoto Events folder

When you click on the iPhoto Events folder you'll get a simulated iPhoto Events window.

The downside to the simulation is that the Albums/Events can only be sorted automatically by Title. But they can also be sorted manually, either in the sidebar or in the folder's window at the right.

Ask Apple for more sorting options in Photos via https://www.apple.com/feedback/photos.html.

Hi, I see this post is from June, and Im wondering of anything has changed for sorting options.,

I just changed from iPhoto to Photos. Is there a way to change the sorting of "photos" from newest to oldest?

The sort option "keep sorted by oldest first" is grayed out, and I was just wondering if there was a way around that.

Thanks!
