FCPX Library Icon Image missing in Finder

I've just upgraded to OS 10.10.3, and the problem remains there. So I decide to ask 😊

Basically, all the working flows in FCPX are fine. I'm struggling with finding the icon image in Finder.

When in list view:

The library shows the correct icon:

When in icons view:

The library shows this: 😢😕 It should be the purple stars!

When I choose the 'Get Info', it's fine again:

When I use the 'Quick Look' (Tap the Space):

Anyone can help me fix this? Or just tell me the path to icon, so I can copy from my other Mac. The white page icon just makes me sad all day.

Mac Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

This looks like it is a Finder issue.

You might get it solved by deleting the Icon Services cache or rebuilding the launch services database, but before you do this:

Does it happen with any library, or just this one?

All the FCP libraries look like this. And all other Finder icons seem to be fine.

Rereading your first post, I see that you have just updated to 10.10.3, but the problem was already present before. So this does not appear to be related to a particular version.

Before trying some of the things I suggested in the previous post, I suggest you try this:

1) Select one library in the Finder and hit Cmd-I.

2) In the Get Info window:

- make sure the full name of the library contains the extension .fcpbundle

- in "Open with", make sure "Final Cut Pro" is selected.

- click the "Change all..." button below (in case this button is dimmed, just click the "open with" popup menu, but make sure that Final Cut Pro is still selected)

Thank you for the suggestion, but it seems not working.

Also I tried to use the following command to delete the icon cache, not working. (Assume Google is correct)

sudo find /private/var/folders/ -name com.apple.dock.iconcache -exec rm {} \;

Add some extra information for you all:

The Finder Cover Flow mode is correct:

I went into the path of

/Applications/Final\ Cut\ Pro.app/Contents/Resources/Library.icns

The file itself seems to be fine, which contains 6 icon when I opened with Preview.

Did you relaunch the Finder after running this terminal command?

(which, by the way, I think is correct)

Yes, I did relaunched the Finder.

I might just ignore this icon from now on.

Hi guys. Just stumbled on the fix for this issue. Control click or right click in the finder window where you keep your Final Cut Libraries and select "show view options" from the menu. Use the icon size slider to increase the icon size to 140 or greater and the Library Icon should reappear.

I'm having this issue as well. Since updating to 10.2.1. It only happens on the main drive that I keep my media on. Other drives used to transport stuff around display properly. I have tried everything reported above but no luck. Strangely I have just noticed today that some Libraries are now displaying their icons properly. Jerry's method of increasing the icon size to 140 also work, except there's no way I can have the finder icons this huge, and putting it back again to how it was stops the icons showing properly again.

Did you clear the Icon Services database?

The easy way is to use OnyX, but there is a list of Terminal commands for that too.

did some stuff in the Terminal, but didn't seem to make a difference. will look at OnyX. strange why some Libraries now display properly.
