I have the same problem ever since I installed iOS 8.2 in my 4S. The problem persists after an upgrade to 8.3. The Wi-Fi button is greyed out, is the explanation given by the local Apple service center. They offered to replace my 4S for about 180 $ if I turn in my phone, with a new replacement 4S coming in by 4 to 5 days. As I am travelling abroad in the next few days and did not want to travel without Wi-Fi,  I started considering buying iPhone 6. But, reading the posts here, I realized that the same problem exists in the 6 too.

I hope apple sorts this out soon, instead of making customers pay more for problems created by their own software / hardware.

Hi, a week ago I noticed that my wifi connection became super slow, especially when streaming music it just randomly stopped and wouldn't buffer anymore. It seems that since the upgrade to 8.3 my iphone can barely connect to the internet anymore. Sometimes it works fine but most of the time not even google would load in safari. It's not my rouder cus my ipad 2 running ios 7.1 works like a charm. PLEASE APPLE FIX THIS. I have an iPhone 6 and would rly like to use it via wifi again and bot via my data plan non stop!

I've been connecting my iphone 5 to my wifi for 30 minutes, but still can't have a stable connection. It automatically drops the connection as soon as it detect my wifi for 2 seconds. I already reset my network setting but nothing has changed. I hope the fix for this issue will be rolling out soon! It's been more than a month since I experienced this wifried issue!

Hey, so my problem was that the data transfer via wifi was so low that my iphone 6 wouldn't even open google.

I seem to got it fixed now.. I'm using a tp-link router and have an iphone 6 running ios8.3.

Setting ins my router were mixedBgn which I switched to mixed bg. 5ghz is not available anymore only 2.5 ghz (or something like that) but now my internet connection is way better.

Hope this helps some of .

Same here! It's only been a month since I upgrade to 8.3 and I hate it! I only have wifi on my Ipad 2 and while in some areas of my house, the wifi connection is very poor, it never had a problem with most of the other areas of my house while using it.  Since upgrading, if I have connection, it's very very slow and the apps are very very slow to refresh (when jumping from app to app). Is there anyway to go back to the original setting I had prior to the upgrade?  Do I just back to iTunes and restore back to previous version?

I'll take it if it means restoring the full use of my ipad - I don't care of the extra emojis or whatever else it was I go. I need it to work.

No, like me, upgrading to IOS8 is something that you will live to regret.

You cannot revert back to IOS7, Apple will not allow it.

The only "solution" is to wait until Apple come out with a fix (which could be a while because Apple refuse to publicly admit to having a problem).

    Hi,

Sorry about my English I speak Spanish.

I have an Iphone 6, and I updated to 8.3. I had a lot of wifi's connection problems.

I do not use Airdrop, so I did this:

    Settings->Restrictions-> (password) and unchecked Airdrop.

Get down in the menu at Game center Options, unchecked Multiplayers game and Add Friends.

After that I haven't got wifi problems anymore.

I hope this can help someone.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------

After trying a lot of possible solutions, this is the only one that really works, despite not make sense.

    Thanks

I have a similar problem. Just bought an iPhone 6 Plus w/iOS 8.3 preinstalled. Gave my daughter my older iPhone 6 w/iOS 7.1.2 installed. When the guy at the mobile provider store did a factory reset on my older iPhone 6 it seems he also upgraded it to iOS 8.3.

All of a sudden neither phone maintains a connection to the house wifi. When we are connected the phones indicate continuous activity with little or no results. My daughter spent 5 hours trying to d/l 10 songs from iCloud to her phone over wifi. We finally gave up and just used 4G.

I have been trying to d/l 250 songs for three days now. So far about a dozen songs have downloaded with no end in sight.

When we are connected to wifi web pages take 3-4 times (or more) longer to load than over 4G. Videos on YouTube play in 10 second (or less) increments and have to be restarted over and over.

By comparison I have a laptop which I have used periodically on wifi to test speed and network connectivity during the same time period, no performance issues there whatsoever. It is the phones/iOS. So much for "it just works". Ha.

Anyone know when this will be resolved? I'd like to move on to some of the other issues with this phone.

Having the same problem with IOS 8.3

I have to be within 2 m of my router or my IPAD2  won't see my wifi network to connect.

Sometimes it suddenly asks for wifi password to connect but it won't connect.

The same problem occurs at home, work and other locations.

This is costing me a lot of money because wifi is hardly available anymore.

Out of the country my roaming charges are exploding because no wifi unless I am literally next to an access point.

    Tried everything

    - reset network

    - even did a clean install of IOS, to no avail.

Is this going to be solved in IOS 8.4?

    This is really bad.

    hi !!

I have a similar issue where my iPhone4S keeps losing WiFi signals. Generally speaking, WiFi's strength is low on it wheres on iPhone5S full signal strength is observed. Both the devices connect to the same router!! I never observed slowness in internet speed, although at times signal is lost on iPhone4S even when I am close to the router..

I have personally observed poor reception on iPhone4S after I upgraded to iOS 8.0.1... Since then it has not improved for me.

Not to mention, I tried Network settings reset. I also erased entire data to start fresh but to no avail.. Disappointed.

Aiee! Caramba!  Quinzico's suggestion WORKED for me!   I've been struggling with inability to connect to my home wifi for days, trying every suggestion and option I can think of, but I never "reset all settings" until I read your suggestion.   And I concur, it only worked when I did exactly what you suggested, turning off wifi BEFORE the reset.

    Here's what Quinzico said:

I've tried this and it worked for me:

    1st - Turn off Wifi

2nd -  goto Settings->General->reset->reset all settings (first choice)

3rd - After the reset and reboot, turn on the wifi.

For what i've experienced the first step is very important.

    Regards

    H.Quinzico

    THANKS SO MUCH!
